Love Box
Salem Angels’ Love Box program connects volunteers with local foster families to provide consistent, meaningful support. They do this through monthly care packages, notes of encouragement, and mentorship.
Love Box Basics
- Can be individuals, families, or groups
- One year commitment (Including post-adoption or reunification with biological family)
- Monthly box with practical, everyday items and/or activity with the foster family
- Intentional time with the family
- The volunteer initiates and provides autonomy for the family
- Encouraging letters to each family member
- Goals: normalcy, relational permanency, resilience, educational success, placement stability, and family connectedness
Dare to Dream
Salem Angels’ Dare to Dream program is a one-on-one mentorship program that pairs volunteers with youth in foster care (ages 11–22). Mentors build trust, help set goals, and offer guidance as these incredible young people transition into adulthood.
Dare to Dream Basics
- Mentoring for youth ages 11-22 years old
- Mentors meet with their youth a minimum of twice a month, one-on-one with the youth
- Mentors help their youth reach tailored developmental milestones/goals
- Mentors are strongly encouraged to consider staying with their youth through high school graduation if the youth is still in school
- The mentor initiates and provides autonomy for the youth
- Goals: normalcy, relational permanency, resilience, educational success, placement stability, and family connectedness

How LifeSource Is Showing Up for Salem Angels This February
This February, all of the Bag Credit Donations will go directly to Salem Angels.
How Your Reusable Bags Turn Into Real Support
LifeSource credits you 10¢ for each reusable bag you use, and 5¢ for each reusable bulk container. You can keep that credit if you want, or you can choose to direct it to the local nonprofit we’ve selected for the month. This month, it’s Salem Angels.
How a Small Act Adds Up to Big Community Impact
It depends how much our customers have allocated in Bag Credit Donations! But those nickels and dimes add up. In December, for example, you helped us donate $911.21 to Liberty House, diverting over 9000 bags and containers from the waste stream in the process! As soon as we’ve calculated the previous month’s total, we’ll post it on the big screen above the checkout lanes at the front of the store.
